If you want to print your own washi tape, try these three simple steps:
1. Print a design on regular printer paper
2. Cut it out with scissors or an x-acto knife
3. Put the design face down on the adhesive side of the washi tape, then cut around the design
2) Picture Frames
Print your own washi tape is a fun way to turn any printable surface into a beautiful work of art! Simply follow these instructions: Print out your desired design onto regular copy paper, cut out the design, position it on the desired surface, and then tape down the edges. Press firmly onto the surface for about 5-7 seconds to make sure that it sticks. Remove the clear film on top of the adhesive side to reveal your new personalized print!
3) Home Decor
1) Use washi tape to create a neat and personalized gift wrap. If you want to give your gift a more personal touch, adding some washi tape can help.

1. Make a Gift Bag – Cut a strip of tape, then cut it in half widthwise so that you can form a bow on the front of your bag.
2. Fold the Ends for a Ribbon-Like Look – Form two loops out of the end of the piece of tape, then tuck each loop into the other to form a ribbon.
3. Add Dimension to Paper Art – Use washi tape as an accent to make your paper art pop or add some color to an otherwise monochromatic piece.
4. Create Wrapping Paper – Wrap gifts with washi tape!
5) Greeting Cards
Want to give a friend or family member a card with your own message on it? The easiest way to do that is by printing your own washi tape! Here’s how:
1. Get the design you want printed. The more detailed, the better. I usually use something like Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign for this step, but if you don’t have those programs, then try downloading a free design from sites like Openclipart or Designspiration. If you’re feeling crafty, then just print out an image on regular printer paper.
2. Cut out the design so that it has no white space around it and carefully peel off the back of the paper backing so that all of your washi tape is exposed as shown in Figure 1 below.
6) Scrapbooking
1. Use washi tape to create a border around the edge of your scrapbook page. This will make your page stand out, especially when you use a contrasting color.
2. Use washi tape to attach embellishments, like sequins or stickers, to your scrapbooking project. This way you’ll have an easier time finding them when you need them in the future!
3. Create fun shapes by cutting up washi tape with scissors or craft cutting tools before adhering it to paper for a fun design.
4. Wrap gifts with washi tape! It’s a great way to add personality and style without using any kind of additional wrapping paper or ribbon, which makes it easy on both you and the environment too!
7) Wrapping Gifts
1. Draw a design on your clothing using washi tape. This is an easy way to add some flair to your outfit. 2. Create a bracelet by cutting off strips of washi tape, rolling them, and tying them together in the middle. 3. Cut out shapes from the tape for use as appliques or patches that can be sewn onto clothing, headbands, or bags for decoration. 4. Try making a hat by covering the brim with washi tape so that it sticks up in points, like spokes on a wheel (if you want to get really fancy, you can create colors corresponding with a team’s colors).
8) Planners
1. Add a pop of color to your planner.
2. Make your own book cover or bookmark with washi tape to help keep the pages in place.
3. Label your cords, cables, or chargers with washi tape for easy identification and storage.
4. Create custom notepads by cutting paper into squares and taping them together with washi tape at the spine like a small book; then, decorate the front using stamps, crayons, paint, etc…
