The print procedure is very broad, and to run it properly, the print and spool service must be running. And when you start your printer, the job calls the print spool service, which adds your document to the printer’s queue. After that, the selected printer takes over the job and prints your paper. Well, the data to be printed is set via USB cable, Wi-Fi, or other cables, depending on your printer.

But in this process, many things can go wrong, and due to this, you start encountering an error printing message.

How to Fix Printer Errors

Long before heading to the fixes, try resetting the printer > turn off the printer > unplug it, plug it back in, and turn it back on.

Now check whether your printer starts working or not. But if you still get the Windows 10 error printing message, try the solutions below one by one carefully.

Solution 1: Update your USB drivers

 Here you need to update the driver to fix Windows 10 printing errors.

Press Windows key + R > in the Run dialog box > type devmgmt.msc> hit Enter.

  • Then in Device Manager > expand Universal Serial Bus Controller
  • And locate your USB port driver with its chipset/controller name. 
  • Now right-click on USB controller driver > click on the update driver software
  • Wait for the whole process to complete > click OK

Now install your drivers and restart your computer. If the USB 3.0 (blue) port still shows the error, try the USB 2.0 (black) port.

  • Now click Troubleshoot > Settings to open the Settings window.

And choose the Ports tab and check that the port you usually plug the printer into is selected there. But if not, deselect the currently selected port.
