Once Spanish citizens have submitted their Electronic Travel Authorization requests, they are evaluated and processed by the Canadian government.

The evaluation process usually takes up to 24 hours, with many applicants receiving confirmation of their eTA almost immediately. Occasionally, it may take a little longer.

Upon confirmation that the application is in order and the payment has been successfully processed, the approved eTAs are electronically linked to the Spanish travelers’ passports. The applicant will be notified by email.

Spanish passport holders are authorized to stay in Canada for 6 months maximum during their visits. Nevertheless, if they encounter any unexpected issues during their stay in Canada and need to remain in the country for a longer period, they can request an eTA extension

They must apply 30 days before they reach the end of the initial 6 months. The Canadian government will issue an extension of their eTA within 24 hours.
