Upload the necessary papers in step four. To set up your demat account, the broker will require your PAN card, identity documentation, proof of residency, a passport-size picture, and evidence of your income. Keep the electronic versions of these papers available for quick processing.

Step 5: At this point, you may submit the form to start a demat account. The papers will be checked by the broker. Next, the broker’s representative may use a video call to connect with you in order to verify your identity. Alternatively, you may film a short video and email it to the broker.

How to Redeem Mutual Fund Units

  1. First, the investor needs to place a sale order with the broker.
  2. The investor needs to submit a delivery instruction slip (DIS) to deliver the mutual fund units to be sold to the broker in favour of the designated Clearing Corporation. 
  3. The broker will receive the funds from the Clearing Corporation through the usual settlement process and credit the funds to the investor’s bank account.
