How to put TikTok Streams in the background on your smartphone (and do other things on your phone)

TikTok Streams

For the great majority of smartphone users today, particularly young people, there is no question that TikTok is one of the most powerful applications available on the market. However, it is evident that it is a wonderful instrument for procrastination, and this cannot be denied. Without paying attention, you’ll waste a few valuable minutes just viewing brief movies and doing nothing.  Else, which is a waste of your time. In addition, I am aware that some users may choose to do something else on their smartphone while the TikTok streams are playing in the background. Similar to what many people currently do with YouTube, for example.

So, TikTok use introduced a new function that allows you to play the app’s video in the background, allowing you to do anything else on your smartphone while the video is playing. Let’s have a look at how this tool works.

The news arrives on Android and iOS

Right now, I have both good and terrible news to share with you. There is good news in that you can, in fact, use your smartphone to play TikTok streams as a background activity while doing anything else as your primary activity. This is true for both Android and iOS devices. It’s a shame that, for the time being, the functionality isn’t accessible for all videos (at least not now). It is only available for social media live broadcasts. Yes, it is not a perfect world, but it is a world nevertheless, isn’t it?

To make this feature available on TikTok, complete the following steps:

  • Select the Lives or Live Streams option from the drop-down menu.
  • While the video is playing, choose the share option from the menu bar.
  • Then choose the Background Player or the Background Player item from the drop-down menu.
  • Select one of the possible choices for this replay from the drop-down menu.

Picture in Picture mode is available on TikTok, in which live videos are still streaming within a floating window while another video is playing in the background. You may utilize another program while listening to the content of the live broadcast in the Audio mode, which is self-explanatory.

It’s not perfect yet

Those who tried it out claim that it is functional, but it might be improved. The faults in Android’s Picture in Picture mode have a negative impact on TikTok’s new capabilities. The feature isn’t available on Android 12, which only plays music, not video, as a result. In addition, the sound playback control has a problem in that although it is possible to pause or halt transmission The sound begins to play again after a few seconds.

Byte Dance (the company responsible for TikTok) should be able to overcome these difficulties in due course. Users should be able to benefit from the new function relatively shortly after it is launched. This includes all of the material available inside the app, not just live feeds.
