The whole month of Ramadan unfolds countless blessings and rewards of ALLAH. The most magnificent of Ramadan’s characteristics is Allah closes the days of hell. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said Allah opens the gate of heaven in the holy month of Ramadan and the gates of hell are closed. So it is believed if any believer passes away during the month of Ramadan he will enter heaven. The month of Ramadan is divided into three decades. Muslims can learn supplications of each Ashra mentioned in Islamic books. Every supplication is significantly different.

The first ten days of Ramadan are the days of Allah’s Mercy and blessings. The Dua for the first Ashra is: “Rabbi Ighfir Warham Wa Anta Khayrur Raahimeen” which means: My Lord, Forgive me and have mercy, and you are the best the most merciful. One of Allah’s characteristics is “MERCY”. He is the one whose Mercy prevails over everything in the universe. So by reciting we can gain more of his Mercy and can make the best of the First Ashra of Ramadan.

The middle ten days are the days of forgiveness. One of Allah’s names from Isma-ul-Husna is Al-Ghafur, which means Ever forgiving, All-Forgiving. The other name is Al-Ghaffar, which means Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Al-Forgiving means this type of forgiveness is an unremitting and monotonous action Calling ALLAH by his name makes supplications stronger.

The day of the second Ashra is: “Astagfirullah Rabbi Min Kuli Zanbii wa Atubu Alehi” it means I seek ALLAH’s forgiveness for all my sins, who is Lord, and I ask for repentance. Allah loves those who seek forgiveness. Recite Astagfirullah as much as you can in the second Ashra of Ramadan to make the best out of this decade.

The last ten days are the days of safety from hellfire. The Dua of the third Ashra is Allahuma Ajirni Minan Naar” it means O Allah! Protect me from fire.

The significance of the Dua is it will protect the reciter from hellfire.

The night of decree comes in the last ten days of Ramadan. Every year the night of decree comes on a different night, it is a mystery except for Allah no one knows when the night of decree occurs. The holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ commanded to find the night of decree in the last 10 nights of Ramadan 21, 23, 25, 27, and 29.

The supplication for the night of decree is “Allahumma innaka afuwwan tuhibbul afwa fa’fu ‘Anne the meaning of the Dua is O Allah, indeed! You are Pardoning; you love Pardon, so pardon me.
