The morning text can be the most simple and efficient way to communicate with your significant other, but how many people actually use it? Surprisingly not too many, but why not? Why don’t more people use this great tool in their relationships? More specifically, why don’t more couples use the morning text in their relationships? This article will cover the reasons as to why you need the morning text in your relationship and what its benefits are.
Checking in with your partner
It’s easy to take your relationship for granted—to think that it will always be there, when we all know things change. One of my clients once told me that he and his wife had been married for 20 years and she still randomly surprises him with texts like I love you so much!, You make me so happy! Or simply just pictures of her smiling at him. That couple isn’t alone. The morning text seems to be all about keeping romance alive and healthy in any relationship; as time goes on, it’s common to see partners slipping into everyday routines or forgetting how important it is to check-in with each other from time-to-time.
Show you’re thinking about them all day
When your significant other is with you, it’s easy to check in on each other at any point—asking how their day is going, sharing funny pictures or videos, saying I love you. But when they’re not around, it can be hard to maintain that personal connection. That’s why it’s helpful to find ways to remind yourself throughout your day to text them and tell them how much you care about them. Remembering small moments from earlier in your relationship will remind both of you what drew you together in the first place. Even just a quick good morning text has immense power; early studies have shown that even very small acts of kindness can have strong benefits on our mood and well-being.
Send them positive vibes before they start their day
A great way to start your relationship off on the right foot is sending positive text messages every morning to each other. It’s an easy way to wake up and feel encouraged, plus it shows that you’re thinking about your partner even when they aren’t with you. Don’t worry if you don’t have much time; it’s not necessary that you compose a novel. Just send something sweet or bring up something cute from last night’s dream. It will put both of you in good spirits and set things off right for your busy day ahead! It may seem like it won’t make much of an impact, but trust us–if done consistently, it’ll mean so much more than words can describe!
A way to connect during the day
You might not be able to see or touch your significant other throughout your day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t stay connected! Sending brief text messages before work and in between meetings is an easy way to remind them how much you love them, how thankful you are to have them in your life and more. These can even serve as a chance for deeper conversations when you’re reunited at night; what do you think of every afternoon? How was your day? What was interesting about it? What are you looking forward to seeing or doing together tonight? Spending just five minutes catching up with one another can make all the difference. After all, isn’t that what really matters: being there for each other whenever possible?
Because you can
It’s simple: Because you can. Your boyfriend or girlfriend doesn’t have to be awake when you wake up. They don’t have to stay up late after work waiting for your message. All they need is their phone. That’s it! You have total freedom of time, so take advantage of it! If you’re feeling lonely, send them a text and tell them that you miss them. If you want to tell them something funny, send it along with an emoji (and maybe some hearts). If they had a rough day at work and could use some cheering up, send along an encouraging word or two (and maybe some more hearts). Sending that morning text is one of those things that comes naturally once you get into the habit of doing it. There are no rules about what time you should do it — just whatever do feels right for both of your schedules. And keep in mind: if texting isn’t really their thing, there are plenty other ways to show someone that you care about them first thing in the morning! Breakfast in bed?
If it works, keep doing it!
One of most common relationship issues is not having enough communication, and communicating only at crucial moments. While some might say that texting throughout the day is an overuse of technology, it can help bridge huge gaps when people are working hard and might not have time to text their partner. If you’re able to develop an intimate rapport through texting—and establish a more effective communication pattern—then we suggest sticking with it if it works for you. https://zegbeg.com/!
