Out of all the places to go trekking in India, the Brahmatal Trek is the one that offers the most variety. The Brahmatal walk is a whopping 24 kilometres long and offers breathtaking views of some of the most impressive mountains in the Himalayas, including Mt. Chaukhamba, Mt. Neelkanth, and Mt. Hathi Ghoda.
Lohajung, located around 300 miles from Dehradun, is the starting point for the 6-day, 5-night trip. You’ll all have dinner and spend the night at Lohajung before getting ready for the road ahead in the morning.
Brahmatal trek
Since if you want your Brahmatal trek to be just the right amount of exciting and relaxing, our trek leader will brief you each morning. After that, You’ll all start hiking up to the peak, where You’ll all be treated to breathtaking views of Kail Valley. Your final destination for the day is peacefully tucked away amid the oak trees, and you all should arrive there just as night falls. Camp will be made at Bekaltal lake, and You’ll all spend the night there.
The next day, you’ll get an early start on the five-hour hike to Brahmatal lake, where you’ll stop for a rest and set up camp before enjoying dinner with a view of the Nainital and Almora valleys.
Today is the day You’ll all begin our ascent of Brahmatal and receive our first glimpse of the Garhwal Himalaya, including Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.
You’ll all spend the night under the stars at our summit camp, surrounded by toYou’ll allring peaks, before making our way back down to Lohajung for a last night of the walk and a hearty meal.
The Brahmatal trip is one of the best winter treks in India, and it is a favourite with solo travellers, first-time trekkers, and seasoned trekkers alike for the sense of fulfilment it brings.
The First Day’s Transportation: Rishikesh to Lohajung (260 Kms, 7 Hours Drive)
At 6:00 AM, everyone should be at the designated pickup spot. You’ll all leave for Lohajung immediately after that.
You’ll all will travel via the holy cities of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag.
You’ll all head to the hotel as soon as You’ll all reach Lohajung.
There will be a meal and then a place to sleep for the night.
Please be aware that the Rishikesh ISBT or Railway Station will be the meeting place.
The second day of the hike is spent travelling bet
You’ll allen Lohajung and Bekaltal (4 Kilometers, 4 Hours)
A briefing of the day’s walk would be given by the trek leader after an early morning breakfast and tea.
Begin your journey to Bekaltal immediately thereafter. You’ll all would pass the point where the Kali River and the Pindari River meet in Kali Valley.
The trail is surrounded by beautiful oak forests, and the village of Bekaltal is hidden away in the middle of all this foliage. When You’ll all get to the campsite, You’ll all relax and do some teambuilding exercises.
After supper, camp out for the night at Bekaltal.
The third day of the journey is spent hiking from Bekaltal to Brahmatal (7 Kilometers, 5 Hours)
You’ll all have tea and breakfast in the morning and then go out towards Brahmatal Lake.
As You’ll all make our way to the Lake, You’ll allpass through some beautiful woods. You’ll all’d have to travel across Telandi, a huge, verdant area that becomes a white tundra in the winter. You’ll allhave to climb and descend several times before reaching the beautiful Brahmatal lake.
When You’ll all get there, You’ll allset up camp at a campground close to the lake. You’ll alltake it easy by the water, taking in the beautiful vistas of Nainital and Almora.
After supper, camp out for the night in Brahmatal.
On the fourth day of the trek, you will ascend Brahmatal (6 Kilometers, 5 Hours)
After a hearty breakfast, You’ll allset out for the day’s walk to the Brahmatal summit, where You’ll allbe treated to breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayas, including the toYou’ll allring peaks of Trishul and Nandaghunti.
The Garhwal Himalayas provide a wonderful backdrop for the entire hike.
You’ll allspend some time at the campsite taking in the natural wonders before making the journey down to the campground.
After supper, camp out for the night in Brahmatal.
Fifth Day: Arrive at Lohajung Once Again (7 Kilometers, 5 Hours)
The plan is to leave the campground after You’ll all have our morning tea and breakfast.
Then You’ll all make our way back down to Lohajung. Once You’ll all reach Malling, You’ll all will no longer be surrounded by trees and signs of human habitation will become more obvious.
When You’ll all get to Lohajung, You’ll all head to the homestay I’ve arranged for us.
You’ll all ate dinner and stayed the night in Lohajung.
Travel From Lohajung To Rishikesh On Day 6 (260 Kms, 7 Hours Drive)
Our homestays will end after breakfast on the final morning.
At that point, You’ll allhit the road towards Rishikesh. When You’ll all get to Rishikesh, You’ll allall go our separate ways, but You’ll allalways remember this amazing journey.
This will be the final stop on our journey.
