Lil Durk signed Chicago rapper King von autopsy to his Only the Family record label, where he released mixtapes like Welcome to O’Block. However, tragedy struck the rapper when he was shot and killed outside a nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia. He passed away on November 6, 2020. Read on to learn about the life and death of the Chicago rapper.
Rapper Dayvon Bennett
Dayvon Bennett is a rapper from Chicago who was signed to Lil Durk’s Only the Family and Empire Distribution labels. He released three albums. Bennett was very popular with fans and earned a reputation for his raw, witty lyrics. His songs were about love, friendship, and family.
The 26-year-old rapper was born and raised in Chicago. He was friends with fellow hip hop artists Lil Durk and Chief Keef. His early career was hampered by numerous run-ins with the law. He was arrested in 2012 for unlawful possession of a firearm, and faced murder charges in 2014. The charges were eventually dropped after witnesses didn’t testify against him. From there, Von turned to hip-hop and has become one of the most recognizable rappers in Chicago.
In the game, King Von’s motivations are unclear. He has never shot a MOB member before. But this doesn’t stop him from trying to kill Jaro City’s most prominent members, Skinny and Wooski. In addition to Skinny and Wooski, King Von will also try to kill Jaro City rapper Tyquan. But he won’t succeed in his attempt.
His involvement in multiple shootings
A Chicago rapper, King Von, has been in the news lately because of his involvement in multiple shootings in the area. He recently released a 16-track album, “Armed & Dangerous,” and was preparing to premiere a music video from that album. Unfortunately, this story is not over.
After his arrest last year, King Von was charged with several felonies, including attempted murder and robbery. The Atlanta police officer testified that a surveillance camera captured Von firing his gun. Meanwhile, a detective in Chicago said that the rappers were members of a gang called the Black Disciples.
His relationship with rapper Lil Durk
The relationship between King Von and rapper Lil Durk was long-standing. The two rappers were labelmates and frequent collaborators. Despite their age difference, the pair managed to maintain a close bond. Lil Durk even referred to King Von as his “Little Brother.”
Von and Durk grew up in the same neighborhood. They’ve teamed up on a total of seven tracks together. They most recently collaborated on “Still Trappin” off of Durk’s 2020 album The Voice. The album cover features a picture of the two and the words “Long live Grandson.” Von and Durk have also reunited on the track “Evil Twins” from Durk’s 2017 album What It Means to Be King.
The relationship between the two was a surprise to some fans. While the two were dating in 2017, fans began to speculate whether the two would end up separating. Last December, the two became engaged after years of dating and despite rumors of a split.
His nickname “Grandson”
“Grandson” is King Von’s nickname, which he earned during his time in prison. The nickname came about because he reminded some of the older inmates of King David, and was jokingly called King David’s grandson. He’s now a rising star in Chi-town, with buzzing singles and guest spots. In his new mixtape, “Grandson,” Von explores his past and positions himself as a descendant of gangsters.
Von is known for his honest rapping, which shows in his upcoming mixtapes. He’s been working on “Levon James,” a project that will feature collaborations with Lil Durk and NLE Choppa. Von’s album is slated to arrive on September 13th. While many of his fans have questioned the legality of his nickname, he’s still popular, thanks to his positive lyrics. His mixtape, “Grandson,” debuted at number 75 on the Billboard 200 and at number 27 on the Hip Hop albums chart. He continued to release viral music until his death in 2020 after a shootout outside his nightclub.
