Vans and family van in the Philippines

If you are wondering which is the best minivan/family van in the Philippines market, then this article can definitely help you make the right choice.

While pickups are undoubtedly one of the most versatile vehicles available today, pickups are also very useful. As a result, they are very popular in the Philippines, whether as family vans, transportation and logistics solutions for small and large businesses and even daily drivers. Vans is just amazing after all. And I did not receive any Suzuki cars Philippines in this article, perhaps I will write another post to review such a brand.

Modern vans can range from no seats to a fairly comfortable basic seat or something as luxurious as this.

But if you’re currently looking for a pickup, you might be intimidated by the plethora of locally available models. So to help you choose, we’ve picked out seven of the best trucks from the Philippines.

Toyota Hiace

Toyota Hiace is one of the most popular van models in the Philippines market. As a model, it has appeared since 1967 and is present in many countries around the world.

Currently, the locally available Hiace is in its sixth generation. It now has a hood and it’s sharper than its predecessors. Powering the Toyota-made minivan is a 2.8-liter inline-four turbodiesel engine. For six-speed automatic variants, the four-cylinder is said to produce up to 174 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Variants with a six-speed manual transmission also have 174 hp, but it produces less torque at 420 Nm. The current Hiace, like the 5th generation version before it, is rear-wheel drive.

The Hiace Commuter variant has a maximum seating capacity of 15. Premium trim levels of which the Super Grandia Elite is the most luxurious. However, it has a significantly lower capacity of 10 orders of magnitude.

Meanwhile, the Super Grandia with leather seats costs Php 2,608,000, while the top-end Super Grandia Elite AT can cost Php 2,998,000.

Nissan Urvan

Nissan Urvan is also a remarkable minivan available in the Philippines market. Like the Hiace, it’s also a veteran model as its first iteration dates back to 1965 in the form of the Nissan Caravan B640. It should be noted, the newest Urvan is also known as Caravan in some countries.

As for the Philippine spec version, the Nissan Urvan is powered by a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel engine. This engine is the only engine option for the aforementioned van, and it is paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. At maximum, the aforementioned engine can deliver 127 hp and 356 Nm of torque, all of which is sent to its rear wheels.

Most Urvan variants, with the exception of 18-seat Cargo and Standard, can accommodate up to 15 people. Cargo has the lowest seating capacity of three, as its interior has been stripped of the passenger seat for optimal cargo capacity.

Pricing for the Nissan Urvan ranges from Php 1,162,000 for the Cargo MT variant, while the top-end Urvan Premium AT costs Php 1,866,000.

Philkotse also has a lot of 2016 Nissan Urvan and other model years for sale at very affordable prices.

Maxus G50

While the Maxus G50 is classified as a minivan and not a full truck, it is large enough to handle pickup duties. At maximum, the Maxus-made model can accommodate up to eight people and offers a variety of high-tech features for entertainment and comfort. Fold the seats down and the G50 also offers plenty of cargo space.

As for the powertrain, the Maxus G50 family van uses a 1.5-liter in-line 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. At maximum, this engine can promote a capacity of up to 167 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.

There’s also a 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine that can produce 150 hp and 230 Nm of torque for the entry-level Comfort version. As for this variant, it adapts a 6-speed transmission for the manual operation. Unlike most of the models on this list, the minivan made by Maxus is a front-wheel drive model.

There are four variants of the Maxus G50 that can be purchased locally. Prices start at Php 948,000 for G50 MT Comfort, Php 1,338,000 for G50 Premium.
