Bluetooth multipoint can also interrupt the audio stream . If you receive a call while listening to music on your laptop, for example, the music will stop and the headphones will automatically switch to your smartphone. Then, when the call ends (or you ignore it), the headphones switch back to your laptop for music.

Starting with version 4.0 (more than ten years ago), Bluetooth added to its specifications in 2010 the possibility and ability, if the device has it, to connect to multiple devices simultaneously, along with Bluetooth Low Energy .

The example above is the way most people tend to use Bluetooth multipoint, but, to be clear, it was originally intended for people who spend most of their time making calls.
