Motivation And Strategy

Her mother motivated her for the Civil Services exam and her mother also said to her that if she wanted to make some change in the society she had to work hard and serve as an administrator and become part of the solution of the problems of the people.

For Prelims, she started with NCERT books to complete her basics, and then she referred to standard books for every subject. She also mentioned not to go after too many books and resources. She read the books multiple times, and then she started making notes from them. She also gave importance to mock tests.

For current affairs, she regularly read the newspaper and made notes, and she relied on the monthly magazine of any coaching institute. She also gave importance to the Previous year’s question papers. For the CSAT, she balanced her preparation with maths and reading comprehension. For Mains preparation, she focused first on completing a topic and then writing answers to it, not the other way around.

The quality of answers will improve gradually, and more and more practice with answer writing is necessary to do well in Mains. Also, she focused on adding facts while writing answers and substantiating them also. She also focused on PYQs to identify the important topics that are being asked in examinations. She also gave importance to diversifying the answer.

Apart from that, she also gave importance to integrating the preparation and interlinking of the subject to write better answers. Her Optional Subject was Sociology, for this she did two things: she practiced a lot of answer writing and second, she integrated current affairs with her optional subject to write the answers. For the Interview, she gave many mocks to get more perspectives.
