In America, Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, also known as NBA YoungBoy or simply YoungBoy, is a very well-known and prosperous individual. On October 20, 1999, he was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the United States. Kentrell had an extremely difficult childhood because he injured his neck as a young boy, necessitating the use of a head brace until the broken bones reconnected. Although the two Baton Rouge rappers’ quarrel never really resulted in physical violence, it did garner a lot of media attention. Youngboy was detained in Austin, Texas in December 2016 on charges of attempting to commit first-degree murder in connection with a reported drive-by gunshot. 

Youngboy released the songs “Win or Lose,” “Don’t Matter,” and “Too Much” on the mixtapes Before I Go: Reloaded and Mind of a Menace 3: Reloaded while he was incarcerated in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. YoungBoy, on August 3, 2017, and it debuted at number 24 on the Billboard 200. Soon after agreeing to a joint venture deal with Atlantic Records in January 2018, Youngboy released his first studio album, Until Death Call My Name. The CD was made available on April 27, 2018. Decided, Youngboy’s 12th mixtape, was released on September 7, 2018, and it only featured Trippie Redd as a guest appearance. It reached number 9 on the Billboard 200. On December 20, Youngboy released Realer, a mixtape that also featured Lil Baby and Plies as special guests. Youngboy was the most-watched musician across all genres in January 2019 after being on YouTube’s Top Music Artists list in the US for the previous 101 weeks. He consistently released new songs regularly and only on YouTube, which was largely responsible for this.

Without releasing a project in the first half of 2019, he was also the seventh-best artist by on-demand audio streams and the ninth-best selling artist on the 2019 Billboard Mid-Year Charts. Youngboy began his 14-month house arrest sentence in September 2019 after violating his probation earlier in the year. He is thus unable to record music from anywhere other than his home.
